Hey guys!
I won’t even try to give any excuse as to why I haven’t been constant on here (things happen) I got asked about my wash day in this post on natural hair care and I’ll briefly share one of my washdays
I had a weave installed for about 3 weeks(a month is the longest I can actually go) and I had just been too lazy to do anything to my real hair. By the time I was loosening the cornrows I had a lot of tangles. So I decided to prepoo first.
Prepoo is what you do to your hair before washing. So I used an oil mix my friend made for me(shout out to Ebube). The oil mix comprises of curry, almond oil, coconut oil and rosemary oil. Then I finger detangled my hair and put a nylon over it and went to bed
The next morning I washed my hair with a clarifying shampoo because I haven’t washed my hair in a long while. A clarifying shampoo has sulphate in it(and I’m sure you know it strips the hair of its natural oils) I wanted my hair to be really clean and that’s why I used it
Next I deep conditioned to help restore any shine and moisture the shampoo might have stripped off and tied a turban and went to class
Later that day, I rinsed off the conditioner, moisturized my hair and sealed it with oil and put it in a bun for the week.
PRODUCT USED:
Clarifying shampoo: Pantene shampoo
Deep conditioner: Wenaturals conditioner
Leave in: Shanyi organics
Oil: Argan oil
I hope this answers some of your question about my wash day.
What’s your washday like? I’d love to hear about yours and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I just did my wash day today actually. I normally use sulphate/paraben free shampoo (Crème of Nature argan shampoo) followed with a Olive oil replenishing conditioner. I leave it on for ten minutes or so. (Sometimes I put a cap on and sit under the dryer for at least ten minutes.) After I use a wide-tooth comb to comb my hair and sometimes add in not your mother’s leave in conditioner. I either flat twist my hair or stretch it by using thread. Then my go to oils are palmers infused w/ black Jamaican castor
oil, tea tree oil and African pride shea butter cream :).

How long do you finger detangle for?….My hair is 4bC.Low porosity hair and I think it’s more of 4C,so the hair strands love themselves doo much. After finger-detangling I have to comb it out also and after washing I have to comb it out immediately too.Or else,It would tangle it’s life out and bring out like 3× your hair loss and my hair isn’t even half as full or as long as yours.Takes me like 3hrs to finger detangler properly and I haven’t had that much time and then comb in sections….Wish I could exchange my hair for someone else’s tho

I’m so sure your hair isn’t that bad, it’s just lack of ample time. I finger detangle for about 2 hours but when I detangle using a comb I detangle for about 10 minutes or more. I think this should work for you.
1) section your hair by twisting it into 6 after loosening it before you wash or prepoo
2) prepoo and wash in twists
3) deep condition, unravel and then detangle
4) rinse out the deep conditioner and then twist back
5) when dry do whatever with it.
I’m sure you’ll experience lass breakage.

Sometimes, I feel very lazy on wash days….. I prepoo first with olive oil, shampoo with dudu osun(black soap) and deep condition with a mix of honey, Shea butter and Africa’s best organics hair mayonnaise.
